You won’t want to miss Temple Medicine’s 1-year Anniversary Celebration
By Matthew Koren

It’s harvest season (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), which makes for an opportune time to celebrate all of our progress throughout the year. As we know, motion and progress are different things. If we don’t catch ourselves and take stock of where we are and how far we’ve come, we can feel burned out and be blinded to our achievements. It’s incredibly important to create time to reflect, recognize and acknowledge the growth and expansion that we’ve experienced. This can look like celebrations of little win’s, or full on retrospectives of our lived experience. However this looks for you in your life, we’re inviting you to harvest the blessings of the year thus far!

Here at Spirit in Transition, we’re counting our blessings. In this blog post, we’re going to offer a re-cap of the year so far, as we play an integral role within the Temple Medicine community here in the Fort Lauderdale area.

What is Temple Medicine?

Temple Medicine is the reminder that YOU are an inter-being. We are a living culture, constantly growing, evolving and thriving at each new level we achieve.

As a place of worship, the temple was originally a commons—a place of equitable access, use, and spiritual sustainability for everyone in the community. Special rituals and rites are developed around the needs of local community, resources are stewarded by our leadership in an accountable way, and conflicts and transgressions are dealt with compassionately rather than abruptly. This was ‘medicine’ for all who came to the temple, supporting their healing, empowerment, and consciousness development.

Our intent with Temple Medicine is to create a modern day ‘temple’ of healing and empowerment (within a cultural rather than religious context). Leveraging the tools of an ancient lineage, we can stand as empowered community of people “reclaiming their crowns,” living in the awareness that they are God, in service to each other and the world.

Temple Medicine is a physical location that is activated by the community. Different community members activate the space in different ways; the space itself is a canvas onto which each of us contribute our stroke of genius. As one of the Temple Medicine members Brandon refers to it, we are a “blossoming and flowering new community of seekers; like minded people with a sense of spirit, looking for quality connections.”

Throughout the year, we’ve enjoyed a growing number of new initiates into the Lineage, budding partnerships, engaged community volunteers and collaborative relationships. We have nurtured and grown an empowered community of people reclaiming their royalty, living in the awareness that they are God, in service to each other and the world, creating powerful structures to grow from, and providing support to each other. As a result of the Magick, our community is empowered, and they are revered as wisdom keepers and sacred spaces holders by their peers and personal communities.

From the perspective of Lifetime Member, Lilith Reese, Temple Medicine “opened up arenas for me that previously felt uncomfortable, or not totally secure. Prior to Temple Medicine I really struggled with public speaking. Temple Medicine is a container that invites me into trusting myself being an empowered leader”.

It’s leaders like Lilith who have empowered our community to continue showing up, creating spaces for our community members to “automatically feel the container is there for them to be themselves, and to go deeper inside themselves”. Lilith is amongst a whole team of leaders at the Temple Medicine family, and appreciates Temple Medicine as an “outlet to be another version of my authentic self, a platform for me to express authentically”.

It is into this authentic expression that we invite you, dear ones, to join us!

Within the Temple Medicine model, all community members are encouraged to contribute their vision and strengths. We are joining together to embody the new paradigm of balanced masculine and feminine energies in leadership, where intuition and reflection play key roles.

According to Brandon, it’s an ongoing process to “evaluate and reflect on where it is that I want to show up in community”. This process aids to open us toward participating authentically, and showing up in a way that feels true for us. At Temple Medicine, we’re about the process, not the product, so we’re patient with that ongoing articulation for each person.

After all, the path of the initiate is not for everyone, that’s why we offer many different doors to enter through. Whether you’d like to share in a meditation practice or upgrade your DNA with a Life Activation, the Temple is here to support your steps toward your own conscious evolution.

To end with sentiments shared by Lilith, Temple Medicine is “a sound, consistent place where a lot of growth and healing has been able to transpire for me and everyone that’s interacted with it from what I can see. That’s why they continue to show back up. I’m grateful to Matthew for holding it and how everything happened to make it stay consistent; it’s beautiful to see it growing and see everyone coming together there to see it growing.” Thank you for your contributions as well, Lilith!
